Advanced techniques blonde review

This is amazing! If you want a cheeky little blonde highlight to your hair without having to dye it (eek!), then this is perfect for you. I first came across this product last summer when I was looking on getting a slight tint of blonde to my hair. Luckily, my hair naturally get a slight tint but last year I wanted more. The concept of dying my hair was utterly terrifying! I have heard and seen so many horror stories when hair dye goes wrong, so when I found this naturally highlighting product I was a little worried, but I thought that I would try this before I full on dyed my hair.

The way to apply it is incredibly simple! You put a little bit on the stick shown in the picture then brush it through your hair, I concentrated more on the ends of my hair as I wanted a dip dyed affect, then ta-da, it’s done. It will leave your hair looking a little greasy and wet, so I only used it on days when I knew that I wasn’t seeing anyone! One of the issues with this product is that you can only really use it in the summer if you live in England as it reacts with the sun. The more you go out in the sun when the product is in your hair, the more affect the product will take.

Overall, this product is a perfect alternative to dying your hair and it’s certainly great if you just want a slight tint, it also happens gradually so that on one will notice a dramatic change all at once. I would highly recommend this product, feel free to comment any other similar products. 🙂

Vaseline hand cream review

This is such a lovely product that leaves your hand soft and smelling lovely. It states on the cream that it leaves hands ‘healthy and with stronger nails’, however, I am yet to see these changes. I have been using the cream before bed for about a week now and I don’t see any visible change in my hands or nails, but it does leave them smelling like roses. I tend to use the moisturiser at night because as more hand creams, it leaves my hands feeling a little greasy.

Overall, if you love the smell of roses, I would definitely recommend this product.

Garnier moose review

This is one of my favourite products for when I fancy a little curl in my hair. Naturally I have dead straight hair and I long to have that brilliant bounce that curly hair leaves. You simply put a squirt of this moose on your hands, rub is together and scrunch it into your towel dried hair. Now here’s the best part; you can either leave it slightly scrunched and allow it to try naturally (I usually put a loose hairband in to allow it to set rather than just dropping out because my hair is so straight), or you can blow dry it with a diffuser, this leaves your hair with a natural curl. This product leaves your hair smelling lovely and fresh.

However, one criticism that I would like to point out is that it sometimes leaves your hair a little hard and rock like, so I simply run a brush through it to soften it back up, however, this allowed the volume to go down a little. Overall, I would recommend this product and feel free to comment if you know of any other tips for this ‘hard hair’ problem. Thanks!

No7 hand saviour review

I didn’t actually purchase this hand cream I got given it by my grandmother as she was worried about my hands. To explain this, I have been rowing for the last 7 years, 5 times a week and this sometimes leaves my hands very blistered and rough. This product isn’t just for people with rough hands, but it definitely works on all types of hands. You simply put a bit on and it comes out in a yellow, sandy, oily cream which you rub all over your hands and wash them under warm water then pat them dry. It leaves your hands perfectly soft and fresh. I would certainly recommend this product.

Hair Refresher Review

This wonderful little thing is from Avon where it costs under £5. It comes in all different flavours and the one that I chose is called ‘cherry blossom’ because lets face it, who wouldn’t want their hair to smell like cherry blossoms. I would highly recommend this product as it smells great and is really simple to use without leaving your hair greasy. The way in which I apply it is sometimes straight to the hair, I tend to avoid the roots as I tend to get greasy hair if I use products on it, however, more recently I have started to spray it directly onto my hair brush, then brush my hair, this is a great way to keep the smell in your hair for longer. Also, this product lasts forever! This is the second bottle that I have ever had and I only use it once a week, usually on the second day after a hair wash.

Daily Clean

This is amazing! Firstly, as a student I rarely buy from the No7 beauty range as they are rather expensive, however I got a voucher for £5 off from boots and as this only cost a total of £8, I managed to pick it up for £3 and I’ll definitely buy it again. I use this as a moisturiser whenever my face is feeling a little rough, I apply it every night and every time before and after I wear make-up. You simply put it on your fingers and apply to the face, it can go over eyes to remove eye make-up, then you get a cotton pad and wipe it off effortlessly. It leaves you face feeling soft to the touch and fresh. I would definitely recommend this and at only £8 it’s a bargain!

I went into Superdrug about two weeks ago in NEED of something to ease my spots. Everyone goes through outbreaks, it’s just something that happens, however, mine happened to be red, lumps and sore so I searched the isles and found ‘witch anti-blemish redness relief moisturiser’. I must recommend this as almost instantly it stopped the throbbing and soothed my skin. Everyone that knows anything about spots will know that witch hazel is a God sent, and witch contains plenty. You simply place a little blob to the directed area and rub it in, it starts out a bright green colour which was a little scary at first, but then it changes to neutral as you rub it in. The green in the cream makes the redness go down immediately.

The only problem that I could find with this cream is that it left the area shiny, which as well all know when we have spots, we want to hide them, not draw attention to them shining on our faces. However, I solved this easily by using it overnight then wiping my face in the morning with cleansing wipes.

This is the Rimmel London match perfection foundation witch I bought from Superdrug about two months ago. As I had reasonably tanned skin from the good weather in England (Hurrah!) I choose to go for the soft beige colouring.

What I like about this foundation is that it has an APF of 18, which means that when you go out in the sun you don’t have to put sun cream on your face (unless you’re somewhere really hot!). When I apply it I put a small bit on my hand and use a soft sponge to apply it all over my face. Firstly I was shocked about how orange it came out! For such a well known brand and a ‘match perfection’ which means that it should match your skin colourings, my face had turned a tanned shade of orange, which is not attractive. As you can see from the picture I haven’t used much of it since! However, because it is a brand name and cost me quite a bit (I can’t remember exactly), I tried it again one night when I was going out and I must say it worked much better. I think that this matches your skin tone then slightly darkens it to make you look more tanned, which on a night out is a good look, but not just for a day out.

Overall, I would only recommend this if you prefer a foundation that is slightly darker than your own skin tone.

Beauty Review

Right. So I’m new to having my own blog so I thought that I would do a large review of some of my make-up collection to see how people react. This may be something that I continue to do or that I forfeit depending on the amount of interest. Hopefully I can share both my good and my back experiences of certain well known products and perhaps recommend some that will do you good. I’ll be starting tonight and hopefully I’ll have finished by the end of the week where I’ll decide if I’ll continue or not.
